What Events to Expect at the Cowboy Rodeo, At Miller’s Farms , @ Berlin NJ.
Barrell Racing-a rodeo event which a horse and rider attempt to complete a clover leaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time.
Bareback Bronic Riding- emphasizes the balance of the rider as only one hand on a riffing strap helps him to stay on his bucking mount.
Saddle Bronic Riding - the cowboy attempts to stay atop the bronc’s back for 8 seconds.
Team Roping - the only rodeo event that features two contestants. The team is made up of a “header” and a “heeler”. The “header” ropes the horns and the “heeler” ropes both hind legs of the calf while racing against the clock.
Tie Down Roping - (aka calf roping) – a timed event where both horse and cowboy work together to rope and tie a calf.
Steer Wrestling – (aka bulldogging) – a cowboy and his horse chase a steer , the cowboy drops his horse to the steer and wrestles the steer to the ground.
Bull Ridding – the most dangerous of all rodeo events which involves a cowboy getting on a 1500 pound bull and attempting to stay mounted while the animal tries to buck them off.
